Today we announce our partnership with Hemav, a SaaS AI platform for efficient agricultural management, to help agribusinesses increase the efficiency and sustainability of their land.
Our Global FieldID service, which is establishing a geospatial reference framework for the entire agricultural industry, will integrate with Hemav’s AI platform, Layers, to accelerate field mapping and facilitate digitalisation, monitoring and accurate prediction of crops across the entire value chain. The enhanced platform will reduce the time spent on manual data entry when field mapping, reduce errors and provide farmers with crucial crop prediction insights to increase agricultural efficiency.
Hemav’s SaaS AI platform, Layers, remotely analyzes the performance of millions of hectares annually. By leveraging artificial intelligence, Layers develops unique crop forecasting models. These models monitor the entire cultivation process, offering farmers predictive insights into soil health, yield potential and crop quality at every stage of the growing cycle. The digital platform facilitates agricultural data predictions and collaborative sharing across various stakeholders, including farmers, agribusinesses, retailers and regulatory bodies, enhancing efficiency and sustainability across the supply chain.
Hemav's goal is to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of agribusiness operations, ultimately leading to cost savings and increased profitability. This integration will bolster field data accuracy and facilitate the sharing of crop insights for specific land parcels. Our solution enables farmers to effortlessly map their agricultural fields by assigning unique IDs to each plot, effectively creating a 'QR code for fields'. By embracing Global FieldID, Hemav's SaaS AI platform becomes even more efficient, streamlining the process of land plot mapping and granting farmers remote access to precise information.
Xavi Silva Garcia, CEO at Hemav, commented: “Our collaboration with Varda is a significant step towards revolutionizing agricultural efficiency and sustainability. Integrating Global FieldID with our Layers platform will provide farmers with accurate crop performance insights. For our prediction models, plot-by-plot information is crucial for accurate predictions and effective monitoring. FieldID simplifies and accelerates digitization with automated plot boundary detection, essential for large corporations with numerous users and fields. This partnership streamlines field mapping and empowers farmers with predictive analytics, enhancing yield and sustainability. We are excited about the potential to transform agribusiness operations and drive a more sustainable future for agriculture.”
Davide Ceper, CEO at Varda, commented: “Accurate field data discovery and sharing between farmers and industry stakeholders is one of the biggest obstacles hampering collaboration towards a nature-positive food system. Our organization’s mission is totally aligned with Hemav’s vision of optimizing production in agriculture by ‘producing more with less’, as boosting productivity is the best antidote against land clearing for agricultural purposes. We are proud to support Hemav’s efforts through the Global FieldID system.”
